{RV}IP Lounge and Karaoke Cabaret!

Version 3 of the Lounge is coming to Los Angeles. We'll use this page to keep track of planning. Anyone can edit the page, so if you want to add something go right ahead.

 

Dates, Times & Possible Locations

May 1 - 6, 2008.

We usually start around 8pm and go until everyone falls asleep (5 or 6am?). Definite start times and locations will eventually be posted on this page. Generally the drivers/hosts stay up the latest since we drink coffee instead of booze. (Consider that a challenge, boozers.)

 

StarMonster Film Festival- All night, every night, screening the brilliant new & classic videos from Gnarls Barkley, Fatboy Slim, Belle & Sebastian, Cary Brothers, & more...

• The trip to San Diego has been cancelled becuase, with this number of people, each rider would have to pay $100 for gas.
• Or maybe it's cancelled because it's 6:30 and we're still awake after an epic night of blanketing Southern California, from Silverlake to Malibu, with the sweet sounds of kraroke.
• Either way we're sorry.
• And the RVIP Lounge will be in front of Intelligentsia all day long.

We're looking for Vodka and Whiskey. We do the top shelf stuff, so make it good.

We go through 2-3 handles per night, so 10 handles will do nicely. Easy! Even if you're not a booze company this only costs a few hundred dollars.

Lotus Vodka would be a good one for this. They just sponsored the TechCrunch party, and the founder is a former Yahoo.

The goal is to get a guy in a tux handing out beautiful cupcakes (Sprinkles, Lark...!) with a faux snotty attitude. attitude... yum!

We've already been using Twitter to update people on our location, so it would be cool to get a little sponsorship there. We'll explain how the service works to all entrants and help them set it up on their phones.

 

Live Video Streaming

We want to stream live video as we drive around town, and it would be cool if somebody could set everything up and host the video. Keep in mind that we'll be in Hollywood, so people know how to use a camera and make it look good.

We could also shoot a bunch of video on Flip Cameras

 

Online Invitations

We could just do an Evite, but that's so 1987. Don't you want us to use your thing to send invites out to 1000 Hollywood and Silicon Valley types?

Rules

1. Be fun. If you keep bringing it (the fun) we'll keep bring it too. If not, you're on your own.
2. Transport yourself if necessary. We'll always start and finish at the same spot, but who knows where the night will take us in between. If you want to bail early you may find yourself in a cab or on LA's surprisingly nice subway. (There will probably be space for a few bikes.)
3. No drugs. If you can't figure out how to have a good time with gallons of booze, hot nachos, and a karaoke machine then we'll drop you off on Skid Row with all the other junkies. If you ask for drugs we'll know you're a narc, narc.
